Understanding Equipment Certifications
Every machine we sell carries the certifications your country requires — whether it's heading into your home or a working kitchen. Here's what they mean and what ships with every order.

Different markets require different marks. professional equipment ships CE-certified as standard — additional certifications available on request.
CE marking is the EU's conformity declaration — the manufacturer's attestation that the equipment meets all applicable European health, safety, and electromagnetic compatibility directives. Without CE marking, equipment cannot legally be placed on the market in any EEA country.
CE covers the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC), the Low Voltage Directive, and the EMC Directive, depending on the product type. For food-contact equipment, CE also reflects compliance with food safety material standards.
All Mecivi equipment carries CE marking. A Declaration of Conformity document is included in every shipment at no extra charge.
world-class manufacturers we work with adhere to ISO 9001:2015 for quality management systems — the internationally recognised benchmark for consistent production quality, process control, and continuous improvement.
Beyond ISO 9001, product-specific ISO standards apply: ISO 22000 for food safety management in foodstuff categories, ISO 14001 for environmental management where relevant, and equipment-specific EN harmonised standards that align with CE certification.
ISO certificates are available on request when placing your order. Specify this requirement in your quote enquiry and we will include the relevant manufacturer certificates in your documentation package.
NSF International certification is mandatory for commercial foodservice equipment sold in the United States and Canada. It certifies that equipment is designed for cleanability, uses food-safe materials, and meets the NSF/ANSI 4 and 8 standards for commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment.
NSF certification is increasingly required in GCC countries (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar) for imported foodservice equipment, alongside local SASO and GSO conformity requirements. If your country or import agent requires NSF, this must be specified before manufacturing — it is not a sticker that can be added later.
NSF-certified variants of most equipment are available. Specify this requirement when requesting a quote — pricing and lead times differ slightly from standard CE-only configurations.
EU Energy Labelling Regulation (EU) 2021/341 applies to professional refrigeration equipment. The rescaled label (A through G, replacing the old A+++ system) rates refrigeration units on energy consumption per 24 hours relative to their usable volume.
The majority of cold line units we source carry Class A or Class A+ energy ratings under the current scale. High-efficiency blast chillers and display refrigerators can reduce energy operating costs significantly versus non-rated equipment in the same capacity class.
Energy label class is listed in every product specification. For large cold line orders, ask us about the annual running cost comparison — this frequently changes the buying decision on higher-spec units.
Full export documentation ships with every Mecivi order — no chasing, no extra requests needed.
CE marking guarantees legal sale within the European Economic Area (EU + Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein). For other markets:
GCC countries (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman): CE is widely accepted alongside SASO (Saudi) or local conformity requirements, but some equipment categories require additional local type approval. Most commercial kitchen equipment enters GCC markets on CE alone in practice.
UK (post-Brexit): The UK now requires UKCA marking instead of CE for goods placed on the market in Great Britain. However, the UK government extended acceptance of CE marking for most categories through 2024–2025. Check current UKAS guidance for your specific equipment category before importing to the UK.
Australia & New Zealand: The RCM mark is required for electrical goods. CE marking demonstrates compliance with equivalent directives and significantly simplifies the RCM approval process, but is not a direct substitute. Importers typically use the CE technical documentation to obtain RCM certification.
USA & Canada: CE marking has no regulatory standing. NSF and UL/ETL listings are required for foodservice installations. Specify NSF when requesting a quote.
Tell us your destination market and we'll confirm which certifications apply and what documentation will ship with your order.
