It produces a hard, clear cube that melts slowly, so a drink keeps its strength to the bottom of the glass instead of turning to water halfway through, and it keeps a working reserve in the insulated bin underneath so a service starts full rather than catching up. It suits a site that serves ice all day at a steady rate rather than in one violent rush: a coffee bar moving to iced drinks in summer, a small restaurant bar, a hotel breakfast room, an office pantry. Every machine in the range runs on R290, a natural hydrocarbon refrigerant with a global warming potential close to zero, so the installation stays clear of the F-gas phase-down that is steadily pricing older refrigerants out of the market. Air condensation suits a normally ventilated room. Water condensation is the answer when the space runs hot, when the machine sits in a closed cabinet, or when the extra output matters more than the plumbing.
