A step up from the smallest machine for sites where the ice bin was emptying before the shift did. Same hard, slow-melting solid cube, a larger store underneath, and a choice of cube size: the medium cube is the everyday bar cube, the large cube melts more slowly still and suits spirits served long or a display of bottles on ice. It fits a busy café, a restaurant service bar, a small hotel or a catering kitchen that needs a reliable reserve rather than a production line. Castors are fitted, so it rolls out for cleaning instead of being lifted, and the adjustable legs take up an uneven floor. Every machine in the range runs on R290, a natural hydrocarbon refrigerant with a global warming potential close to zero, so the installation stays clear of the F-gas phase-down that is steadily pricing older refrigerants out of the market. Air condensation suits a normally ventilated room. Water condensation is the answer when the space runs hot, when the machine sits in a closed cabinet, or when the extra output matters more than the plumbing. Discharge pump (DP) The versions marked DP leave the factory with a discharge pump fitted. It lets the machine stand away from a drain, or share the drain of a nearby sink, because the pump lifts the waste water instead of relying on gravity. It moves 3.8 litres a minute and can push water up to 30 m horizontally and 1.5 m vertically. In practice that is the difference between putting the machine where the work happens and putting it against the one wall that has a floor drain. The pump is installed during manufacture and cannot be added later, so it has to be chosen with the machine.
